Conflict

Conflict

The story, Mis Match had one main conflict. It starts with out with the problem with Sue and Andy. Andy wants to go out with Sue, but Sue knows she shouldn’t disobey her grandmother. Her grandmother has a strict hatred for the Japanese. She would not be pleased I f she knew that Sue liked a Japanese boy. Sue still agrees to go out with Andy though. Sue thinks that she can just keep it a secret love, that doesn’t go over to well. She goes on dates with Andy, and nobody finds out anything. Rochelle is a little suspicious when Andy shows up at the front door to talk to Sue. Sue still manages to keep it a little longer. When Sue and Andy arrive at the airport they’re families both stop at the café for a snack. Grandma Mei was there too. Grandma Mei walks over to talk to the Suzuki’s. She starts chatting with them; Grandma Mei finds out that their son, Andy is dating her favorite granddaughter, Sue. Grandma Mei is outraged with lies she has been hearing for the past months. She just couldn’t believe her favorite grandchild would do something like that to her. The whole point of why Sue kept the secret was, because Grandma Mei trusted Sue very much, and she knew she would let Grandma Mei down if she found out. When Sue gets back from Japan, she feels guilty for deceiving Grandma Mei. When she arrives home she helps her mother make a fancy dinner in honor of Grandma Mei, to try to get her to accept Sue forgiveness. Sue then finds out Andy is coming over to introduce himself Grandma Mei as Sue’s boyfriend. All Sue thinks is, how could it get anymore awkward?
Resolved- Andy show up with a beautiful glass doll, one that Grandma Mei would have loved to owned. Andy presents the present to Grandma Mei. Grandma Mei is very touched by the gift. Grandma Mei accepts the peace offering. She then decides that Andy had nothing to do with the breaking of her favorite doll, Andy wasn’t even born yet. Grandma Mei cries of joy, because now she has her doll back. Grandma Mei decides that Andy is allowed to see Sue, and they have her permission too.
